Hello and welcome
My name is Ulrike Matter and I am a biologist, journalist and artist. In addition I’m a dog owner, cat slave, taxi driver, kitchen table psychologist, gardener, cook… that’s why I chose the chameleon - even they wear different identities several times a day. But you came here for my art, so I’d like to share my art story with you (briefly😉):
Once upon a time, when I was a little girl and later on a teenager, I attended art classes, where I was taught how to paint with oil colors. So, when I found time again for painting, I started with oil colors. Until the day I stumbled over soft pastels. The colors, the vibrancy, all the wonderful possibilities and opportunities they offered!!! Plus, they are so fragile and delicate and easy blown away. From that day on I was fascinated by them. I also like watercolor and charcoal and I love to draw, and maybe one day I will start showing the results too. But for now have a look at the gallery below and enjoy.
